Planning an Office Buildout
The planning involved in an office buildout project is akin to any large business project. In order to get it right, you need to undertake research and analysis including; how you currently use your office space, corporate culture, brand personality and end user experience (i.e. your staff).
You need to find a good Office Design team and Architect to undertake this research for you, as well as carry out the project itself. You can find and contact a reputable office design company in your City here.
Whilst your Office Design Team undergoes this essential research, you can be putting together an Office Build Out Budget. You should already have a rough indication of how much you will need to spend, but now is the time to decide which areas you want to really invest in.
Your Architect will then be able to provide you with a "wireframe" of how the space will look. This may be in the form of 3D visuals or drawings to give you a feel for how the space will be configured.
Then comes the design, incorporating choice of materials, color scheme, office furniture, signage, lobby area design etc.
All these aspects will need to be agreed and signed off before any buildout work commences.
Office Build Out Implementation
Once the work is underway by your team of contractors, be careful not to change anything. Any changes at this stages could alter your budget and even derail your office move schedule. Your Office Design Team will work with vendors to get the best possible price on materials and office furniture and ensure everything is delivered on time to meet the agreed deadline.
Office Build Out Project Management
As with all major projects, good project management is the key to success. Although your Architect is more than capable of representing your best interests, it's always a good idea to hold weekly meetings with key members of your Office Design Team to get updates on progress. Some meetings may be best held on site to discuss specific issues, make adjustments, and take photos to update staff on new office developments.
